Yesterday was one of those brilliant warm May days that makes you wish it was two weeks later so that you could plant your tomatoes. Busy hands help distract short attention spans.
So out to the little woods to clean up some of the mess that Mother Nature rudely left over the winter.
I was happy to see that not all of the big bass in the pond had been made into fish Popsicles over the past two miserably cold winters…
Theย little Isa Browns are feathering out and enjoying their digs. I added a ladder to encourage them to enjoy different perspectives (like maybe from the roost girls?)…
And it looks like the extra grass clippings added to the compost piles has started working…
It’s funny what a bright sunny day will do to a Michigander! ๐

Thumb twiddling? Temperature control in the compost? You are far too efficient Dan!๐ท๐นโ๏ธ๐น๐ท

Hey Dan … another splendid post. Fish popiscles .. oh boy! I have hot compost envy! LOL … As for that chook coup, boy I hope they know how lucky they are! ๐

Smokin’ hot compost, Dan! Your chookies are gettin’ big. Glad to see things are starting to warm up for you there. We are STILL ‘chilly’ by Texas standards — nights in the 60’s, days hardly break 80. Perhaps we are the new Michigan. (My Michigander hubby is LOVING it, by the way.)

Haha, I hate the really cold end of Michigan winters, but heat is not my thing. But I love fall, spring and early winter in Michigan. Glad your Hubby has a different frame of mind ๐

He likes the cold too, change of the seasons, mild summers, but here in Texas is where the work is. He’s had to adjust for sure.

Nice bass, and nice reflection of your treeline there in the pond too.
